We Need to Grow

The Need to Grow is the most important movie you can watch right now. In a world fraught with intense problems, it features a brilliant creation that offers  an incredibly wonderful solution to many important issues essential to human survival.
The Green Power House is a biorefinery with a photo bioreactor, an anaerobic bioreactor, and an organic carbon engine, three systems that feed each other creating a zero-waste closed loop as Paul Hawken wrote about in The Ecology of Commerse.
From sunlight, algae and biomass, the processes result in negative-carbon electricity, green biofuels, high quality fertilizer, and fruits and vegetables with more nutrients than those conventionally grown. The Green Power House can produce in four days what would take Mother Nature 400 years to complete. Dirt can be regenerated into soil, and the world can be restored to a more natural healthy place. It makes me very happy to have happened across the documentary that highlights the kind of thinking that gives not just hope but actual solutions for sustainable energy and food production.

crying trees

It's an interesting phenomenon in this coastal town when it gets so foggy that moisture collected in the trees makes them rain.
