very crafty

It was a good week for textiles!
I found two blankets each with three layers of saris sewn together in India. The collages of worn fabrics are beautiful with perfectly imperfect  Kantha stitched lines. The light gauzey fabrics have a paper-like feel.
These tea bags turned sweet sachets made by Robin Seiz, on the other hand, are paper with a fabric-like feel, and a lovely herbal smell! Thanks Susan, for supporting other artists and sending me fun gifts!

new twist for an old yarn

The new version of A Christmas Carol on FX is a fascinating and intense take on the original story.  The complexity added to the characters and subplots makes for gut-wrenching twists that have you on the edge of your seat. The actors are superb, the sets are incredible, and the artful consideration of the lighting and colors makes a stunning aesthetic. The new story is very involved, and the film is sure to be added to the yearly traditions on television.
